Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A representative for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an investigation into allegations of questionable actions towards female individuals.
The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
