Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Player of the Year Accolades.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.
The twenty-seven-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Year of High Performance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.
In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a historic £11m in tournament winnings.
She earned almost 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a higher level".

- Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, was voted after taking a extended hiatus following the birth of her daughter and returning to the sport earlier this season.
- Newcomer of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko picked up the award after beginning the season ranked beyond the world's top 300 and soaring to world number 18.
- Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend earned the title after capturing their second Grand Slam title together.
- Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after advancing to five finals.
Last week, Carlos Alcaraz won three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as fans' favourite for a third consecutive time.
